Having worked on a home dating back over 250 years we often find some unique and interesting things, we find a lot of names carved on to brickwork of the names of the men that built it. We find dates hand carved and many names. As I tradition that builder or mason would carve something unique to them and we always do our best to restore them to how they would have been left. We also have our own tradition of fitting a small brass capsule to every listed home we restore. It generally contains the names of the guys that restored the property, the date and the name of the owner for that period. If a historical event happens during the project we often add details of that such as the passing of her majesty the queen. Which is set to be put in our project in Guildford in the former home of Lewis Carroll the author of Alice in Wonderland
Our job leads us to all sorts of incredible sites from royal farms and properties to Tudor drainage systems under castle ruins.to name but a few You never quite know what you are about to see which is why we love the job so much.
As home heritage properties are as unique as the men that built them we never have a one size fits all approach. We customise our approach to each property as required and use the best products on the markets to keep the character and give the property a new lease on life.
